Honda Motorcycle Insurance

When you’re seeking insurance for that sleek Honda motorcycle you just purchased, keep in mind that the coverages are similar to your auto insurance.  However, there are some differences.

Honda Motorcycle Insurance Law

Like auto insurance, each state requires minimum insurance be carried on motorcycles. For example, in California, the minimum motorcycle insurance requirements are:

  • $15,000 per person injured in any one accident and $30,000 for all persons injured in any one accident for bodily injury coverage
  • $5,000 for damage or destruction of another’s property in any one accident for property damage coverage

Honda Motorcycle Insurance Application

The application will ask you for the following information:

  • Your current insurance company,
  • Vehicle information including year, make, model and whether you have an alarm or not
  • Driver information including years driving a motorcycle, any recent safety courses you’ve completed and whether or not you have a motorcycle drivers license

Honda Motorcycle Insurance Coverage

In addition to the minimum liability insurance requirements, you’ll want to consider purchasing the following coverages:

  • Collision
  • Comprehensive
  • Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists
  • Roadside Assistance
  • Custom Parts
  • Medical Payments

You also may want to think about higher limits for your liability insurance. Just meeting the minimums may not be enough if you get into an accident.
